Shifts that have changed my life

I’m not kidding when I say that these shifts changed my life…

Focusing on making myself smaller led me to feeling less confident. Shifting to focusing on how I could become stronger leads me to feeling more confident.

Focusing on “what if I fail?” led me to feeling regretful and like a failure. Shifting to focusing on “what’s possible when I go for it?” leads me to having a life of experience and feeling more competent.

Focusing on not being where I wanted to be led to me feeling miserable and like I was never making progress. Shifting to focusing on how far I’ve come while pursuing continued growth leads me to feeling happy and proud while also enjoying the process.

Trying to fit in and focusing on making others happy led me to not knowing who I was and not liking myself. Shifting to focusing on what makes me like myself and operating with integrity leads me to deeper connections and finding places where I feel like I belong.

Distracting myself when I was feeling sad, frustrated, or overwhelmed led me to burnout and like I was out of control. Shifting to feeling what was there while also doing what supports me in the future leads me feeling at peace, and like I’m in control.

When you want change, often times the hardest part to see is how you’re standing in your own way and the hardest thing to do is to create a new pathway...

But here’s the thing: you always get to decide how to proceed.

I hope this shows you what cool shit is possible when you gain perspective and choose to do that hard thing. Because let’s be real- refusing to see where you’re standing in your own way and repeating your same patterns isn’t leading to anything feeling or being better.

You get to choose which hard feels worth your time, effort, and energy.

I’m choosing the hard that leads me to feeling better and the process feeling easier later. How about you?
